Thapovan Public School is a Co-educational English Medium School, affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and run by Thapovan Educational and Charitable Trust, initiated by the Late H.H Moran Mar Baselius Marthoma Mathews II, the Late H.G Mathews Mar Epiphanios and H.G Thomas Mar Athanasios of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The present Manager of the School is H.G DR. Zachariahs Mar Aprem, Metropolitan of Adoor – Kadampanadu Diocese of MOSC. The School is situated in the Sylvan surroundings of Manakala, a village on the Adoor-Sasthamcotta road about 4km from Adoor town and hardly 1km from the Engineering College at Manakala. It is envisaged and planned as a unique institution to provide quality education in the best traditions of Indian culture. The aim of the Management is to develop the school into a real temple of learning and a multidimensional entity in the field of Higher Education.

The School started functioning in June 1991 and is now a full fledged senior secondary school. The School has a team of dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculty to carry out the aspirations of the management.
